A Western Communities Walking PLUS Service NOW OPEN!
Shannon is not new to the world of dog walking having previously worked for a dog walking company here in Victoria over 12 years ago.
Shannon now brings much world experience back to the world of dog walking when, after having spent many years helping her family run their Hardware store, she realized that the favourite part of her day was when she was out walking with her two terriers.
After much consideration Shannon made the tough decision of making herself and her furry friends happier by turning her life path in a different direction by deciding to return to her true passion of dog walking and thus West Short Pet Service was born.
Shannon loves being with Dogs and helping them become happier and more well-adjusted with the right balance of exercise, which as a dog owner herself is well aware is not always easy to get when you are working long hours.
Shannon offers many Plus services to her clients so that you don't just get an exercised dog, you also get your dog returned to you with it's good manner intact because she understands that exercising the dog's mind is just as important as tiring out the body.
Shannon also provides overnight care in her home and Pet sitting for those pet owners who feel more comfortable leaving their dogs at home while they are away.
As well, a special Plus service Shannon offers to her clients includes dog food delivery for clients who can’t get to the pet store during regular hours, and bathroom/medication breaks for those dogs that can’t make it through the day.
Shannon brings more than 15 years of previous experience with the public and her furry friends in many different areas to her new business that includes a rare combination of strong work ethic and conscientious service that all her clients will be so grateful for.
In Shannon's own words...
"I never really left providing dog care of some kind even when I was running the hardware store. I usually had 1 or 2 dogs whose owners preferred to board their dogs with me while they were away. I have a strong sense of dogs needs and have continued to pursue my K9 education whenever/however I could including bringing in K-9 Super Heroes Dog Whispering when one of my terriers had adjustment problems with a move.
I have over 15 years’ experience walking dogs. Whether it’s just my own or someone else’s. When I decided to open my own walking business. I decided to brush up on my skills by taking a certification course put together by my friends at K-9 Super Heroes. They helped me prepare for walking up to 4 dogs at a time with a variety of issues, while maintaining a calm relaxed pack leader state."
Question: How far in advance must your clients reserve to avoid disappointment?
Answer: "The best thing is to book as soon as you realize you need my services. Even 6 months ahead so you know you have a spot. Walking is a little easier than boarding for availability but for boarding book as far in advance as you can."
Question: Do you offer incentives to DogAboutTown.ca members?
Answer: "DogAboutTown.ca members that show me their card during the consultation receive 20% off their 1st purchase of any of my services and 10% off all services thereafter. Cannot be combined with any other offer."
Question: Do you have any special message you would like to send out to the dog lovers in the Western Communities?
Answer: "Let me help you make your dog one of the happiest dogs in the West Shore." - Shannon
