When McKenzie Veterinary Services recently merged with North Douglas Veterinary Clinic last June, the sounds of construction and renovation began and will soon result in an expansion of retail space along with the addition of three versatile new exam rooms, new technological advances and an increase in staff size that will allow McKenzie Vet Services to continue to meet the ever increasing needs of their patients.
At last count the total staff at McKenzie Vet Services consists of 8+- Veterinarians, 10 technicians, 3-4 technician assistants, and 9 receptionists, with one practise administrator and one hospital manager that keep everything running smoothly.
McKenzie Vet Services offers its patients appointments 7 days a week, with late night appointments booked up until 8:00 p.m. four nights every week, the latest in digital radiology (including digital dental radiology), ultrasound, dental services, cancer medicine, services for exotics and pocket pets, in clinic laboratory and diagnostics, house calls (through their Pacific Mobile Veterinary Clinic) and after hours emergency service.
McKenzie Vet Services is also very much involved in the community, being the first Clinic to become official DogAboutTown.ca business members.
As well, McKenzie Vet is not just a great place to take your canine friends, because they also continue to be the backbone support for Dee's Orphan Kitten Fund through donation of their time and assistance to hundreds of orphaned and feral kittens and cats, as well as providing low cost spay and neuter programs for animals in need under the auspices of the SPCA and Greater Victoria Animal Crusaders.
In October 2008 McKenzie Vet Services provided a pet care booth for pets of the homeless and ministered to the needs of dozens of street pets, and have donated medicines, equipment and supplies to a spay and neuter clinic in Jaltemba Bay, Mexico and a team from the Clinic hopes to visit this year to help out the amazing group of volunteers at Jaltemba Bay.
